![]() If you are an iPhone user and an independent professional, you should take a look at VIPorbit. We expect to see more from them, especially more product functionality for both the iPhone and iPad, which they will need to order to be competitive in the mobile market. ![]() The conversion rate from the free to the paid application is in the upper thirty percent range – an impressive number. Thirty-six percent of their user based comes from oversees in countries like United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and Saudi Arabia. VIPorbit has a few use cases and users in several verticals such as sales professionals, real state, network marketing, home-based businesses and law. The “Backup My Stuff” feature is optional and available for purchase. It allows you to backup and restore your data to a particular day and time. The “Backup My Stuff” option is very similar to the Time Machine from Apple. At the end of the call or message the application maintains a communication log. The application is smart enough to know the social channels the contact belongs to so when you tap to connect, it displays the different options such as phone, Skype, Mail, SMS, Twitter and Facebook. An excellent capability is the ability to schedule events not just for one contact but for any group of contacts in your Orbits. The iCal interface (for Apple products) allows the user to view calendars from Google, Yahoo or any iCal supported calendar. The Calendar has the expected functionality needed to manage contacts: alerts, recurring activities, filters, activity logs and an iCal interface, among others. The easy interface allows the user to navigate throughout the application by just tapping the respective icons or menus (create and view contact information, manage the calendar and create any related activity). Another feature is the use of VIPLinks where the user can create connections and relationships between contacts. Orbits are groups that let the user organize contacts by any criteria. Unlike when you use the Contacts, Calendar, and Reminders apps separately, the VIPorbit app allows you to link activities, meetings, and scheduled events. The solution enables users to have “Orbits”, something similar to Google+ Circles. However, sharing contact information with others is part of the product roadmap as well as a desktop application, including iPad and Android applications. Today, the solution is just a contact manager for a single user and does not offer the capabilities to share information within a group of users, unless you export and import the information. ![]() The actual developer of this free software for Mac is VIPorbit Software International, Inc.
